Rationale
The topic I decided to explore for this project was the best places in Wellington to walk your dog. I focused on three unique spots that were different in scenery, experience and atmosphere. The emotive qualities that I wanted to express were calm, peacefulness and happiness.
I think the use of illustrations in conjunction with photography relayed a more whimsical feel, further adding to the emotive qualities and mood I set out to create. I think that the combination of the font I used as well as the text and visual language all worked together to achieve a cohesive style across the brochure.
From this process I learned a lot about how I like to produce work, as well as styles that suit how I think and make. Particularly, I learned how to overcome blocks and still create an outcome that I am happy with. This will inform how I approach future projects by helping me to realise earlier when I am unhappy with the direction I'm going in, and help create better work.
